Safari Dream Vacation

Do you want to visit South Africa? See different vegetation and animals in their natural habitat? One day you MUST travel to South Africa and go on safari adventures. Witness Lion King moments in real life.

My husband and I have been planning our trip to South Africa with Ever Seen Africa for a year. When we arrived, we were ecstatic! A week surrounded by nature and most of the day unplugged. South Africa was a bucket list destination and once in a lifetime trip. After traveling there, we can say we will definitely be back. We fell in love.

Our Itinerary

We spent a week at three different lodges. The first lodge we stayed in for three nights was Honey Guide Khoka Moya in the Kruger National Park. Khoka Moya has tented accommodations that make you feel one with nature. Since it is winter right now in South Africa it was cold in the mornings and nights. Luckily, the lodge provides heated blankets! Winter is the best time to go on Safaris as the animals are more active.

Before we went to our next accommodation, we booked an elephant interaction with Elephant Moments. This experience is one I will never forget. Getting to feed and touch an elephant was an incredible experience. I felt very connected with the elephants looking into their eyes. The elephants in this rehabilitation facility are super smart and still get to roam freely in the reserve.

The next lodge we stayed in for a night was Honey Guide Ranger Camp in Entabeni. This was another tented accommodation that is lifted more off the ground with an outdoor shower. Ranger Camp also provides heated blankets as well. Entabeni has a beautiful mountain called Hanglip Mountain that reminded me a bit of Pride Rock from Lion King :). The flat plains with tall grass and Hanglip in the background was out of this world beautiful.

After our one night in Entabeni, we drove to our final lodge for three nights. Mhondoro Lodge is located in the Welgevonden game reserve. Mhondoro is a five star luxury lodge. I highly recommend a stay at this lodge. Not only is it luxurious, but the reserve also has high security for anti-poaching. The rhinos in this reserve are thriving and well protected.

In Summary

Visiting South Africa with Charlie and Serena from Ever Seen Africa, we felt right at home. We made lifelong friendships and met other amazing people along the way. We look forward to returning to South Africa one day soon. If you have any questions regarding our itinerary or trip overall, I would love to talk to you about it! Reach out on my contact page.

Wander On,
